My new tree, I've been looking for a LLL since I saw the image of winter buds on Sergios tree. I'm a sucker for fat beautiful buds, and these are red! This tree has a long road of taper building and ramification of branching, but I was so lucky to find one with some excellent attributes to move forward with. New pot is certainly in order next spring, so I'm on the hunt!

Wow, what a beauty! Would love to hear some more on the history of this tree - looks like it has some age!

I wish I knew provenance, I've asked the seller, but didn't get any information.

This tree has a long road of taper building and ramification of branching,
Are you saying these are accomplished, or goals for you? It is about as ramified as it's going to get, a function of leaf and petiole length. The taper it has is also unchangeable in a lifetime for all intents and purposes. What may look like reverse taper is merely the natural evolution of secondary branch growth and is not reverse taper as the words are normally used and defined. It is about as good as LLL gets, and I love it.

Nice acquisition! I’t looks like someone has been developing it for a long long time. I’m curious about its dimensions.

I'm quite sure that I'll be able to get better taper in the branching. Also better ramification. I do like the tree, but I think it can be better.

The tree is 22" tall from the soil. The proportions on this tree are pretty wonderful, I'm indebted to the person who developed this one.

That is a nice linden. Looking forward to seeing it after you do the guy-wire work on the crown!

There will be a full wiring done on this tree, just wondering why you should use guy wires as opposed to regular wiring? I have used guy wires on other trees, just curious why you suggest for this one.

Dunno. Just looked like a tree wtith so much structure already.. Wiring would might take away part of the naturalness maybe?

I feel like guy wiring doesn't have as good an outcome as actual wiring. You get the branch to move but only in one direction, so you can pull it down, but not forward too. With branching as springy as LLL seems to be, I feel like it will take actual bending to get the branch to want to heal the bend to get it to set correctly.

Congrats again on this tree Judy! Not many older and developed Lindens like this one we see in the US. Easy care, very hardy and very flexible.
