Pumice Hazard in Japan

Volcanic eruption causing massive amounts of pumice in Okinawa… could we offer to take some off their hands?
Looks like an issue for the local environment unfortunately - is it bad that my first thought was bonsai substrate?

As someone who's studied geology heavily, it's pretty cool to see. As an Earthling, it's sad and sucks to see.

But, it happened and we can't take it back, so get some boats out there and start scooping!

A free resource most useful this is. Part of these islands "life" so far much less destructive than flowing lava or clouds of ash. Maybe more will get smart and start using instead of crapadama

I mean seriously, I hope they can recoup some of the damage costs by selling it. Does anyone know whether ‘freshly created’ pumice like this has any advantages?
Perhaps they can adapt some of the fishing nets to gather the pumice and distribute. What I’m hearing here is the Japanese do not value pumice as much as say, collectors in the states or Europe?
