Last fall, the wife bought me some bareroot Trident Maple seedlings. They were badly wilted when they arrived, and first freeze cold weather was scheduled a day of two later, so I hurriedly stuck them into a couple of pots and hoped for the best. Well, winter seems to have passed here (Zone 8A) because everything that is capable of budding out is throwing buds. You will see attached photos of some of the smallest/thinnest Tridents you will see. Almost all of them are budding out and making little Trident leaves. In them, I see many possibilities for bonsai at some future point. I have enough to tie five or seven together at the base to make a multiple trunk specimen. I can also plant a small raft probably a raft and eventually have one or two for something else. What would you guys suggest?
