Hi there

Ive been listening to the two podcasts with Dennis Vojtilla on Mirai and it has got me really interested in his work. However, i can only find basic photos of his award winning birch and maybe a JM. Otherwise, a google search is rather fruitless. Does anyone know if he has a website or any socials or if there is anywhere that i might find photos of his wider works?

Thanks

I can’t find the 1st podcast anymore on the Apple podcast app. Is it still available for you?

Here’s a Tour of his garden

Yeah, I've listened to those each 3 times - there's a lot of great discussion of deciduous techniques mixed in. Probably the most of any podcast episode that I've found.
You can get the 1st podcast directly from the mirai asymmetry webpage.
Thanks for the garden tour link - I hadn't seen that before.

Dennis is a good friend of mine and I believe he has the best deciduous collection in the country. He is not very interested in social media or promotion, but his collection deserves to have it's own museum. You can see his trees on display at the Portland Japanese garden on occasion.

I have spoken to Dennis a number of times, but he is hard to get hold of. I own several princess persimmons from him, and we have discussed things related to seasonal care and propagation. I think he is just extremely busy.

He was on a YouTube interview/tour with Ben B Seattle , and has been on Mirai’s podcast a few times. He has won best deciduous and show at the Nationals. He absolutely has the best deciduous collection in the US, his persimmon and Grape vines are spectacular, not to mention his birch which is extremely challenging.

For a few pictures of some of his trees, you can pick up albums from the US National Bonsai Exhibition for just about any year.

You could join bsop online and have access to his video on crown development, find out which vegetable from the grocery he uses as a basis for styling, and learn about the super secret cone of controlled chaos. I'm a big fan of his as well, and Nao and Andrew. I'm lucky to see their art in person at the club.

So you’re sayin Andrew has the best deciduous collection in the United States?
im not, the way you replied to my post I was clarifying to you my question. I think Andrew has set the bar really high and has one of the best collections of deciduous in the country. I have not seen either in person but I have seen a lot of videos of Andrews, I have seen one video of Dennis's. Dennis has one of the best Japanese Maples I have ever seen, yet Andrew has 2 of the best Winter hazels I have ever seen. Bill Valvanis has a pretty amazing collection too. I think its really hard to say someone has the best collection of whatever because there is no way to compare one with the other. That and there are people who don't want others to know about their collections who could have the best collections so its really hard to say.
