    A couple more bonsai drawings...

Again, nice work, Chappy. While both are lovely, I especially like your technique on the second pic. Very "woodblock print" looking, and interesting comp.

When you're not workin on em'...

Beautiful work, Chappy. Pen/ink and CP are my favorite media to work with, along with soft pastels. I just might try working one up of my new Banyan.

Is there a Bonsai Terms glossary anyone knows about?

Lovely, informative blog, Brian. BTW, I've been to Nanzenji, so it was so nice to see the "hidden" areas behind it shown in the blog. Thanks so much.

    Couple of little Ficus

Great job! Looks stunning, and will be even more so with the middle trunk out. But, scary prospect removing it, eh? Please keep us posted. I'm new here, but already feel I'm learning a lot. Have you done anything with the Green Island yet?

    Ficus forest rock planting

Nice rock but, IMO, it should go--it really detracts from the trees, especially since it's such a similar color as their trunks/branches. I also agree the size doesn't work. If it were me, I'd keep it simple. Bet you'll find the perfect use for that rock in another planting.....:)

    New Ficus Retusa

Retusa doesn't like to be moist all the time. Let it dry out some, tho' not fully, before you water it again. Nice tree. Looking forward to see what you do with it. I just acquired an F. retusa myself. Got a fab buy on it and now I think I'm in love. It's about 17" tall, 8" wide at the...
