    Black Olive winter care?

It depends on the cultivar. I bring mine into the unheated garage when the temperature goes below 28F. That doesn't happen here (zone 7B) very often, so the rest of the time they live outdoors, smile at the sun, and grow OK. Last year I even harvested an olive. One. One fruit of the olive tree...

    Flowers 2019

All that's needed is some "cherry pink" to go with the "apple blossom white" -- just to date myself a little.

    Freakishly cute...then what

Oh, yeah. That would be fun. And even better to have something like this as an "accent" nearby. OK. Maybe not. Too homogenous. But cute. Definitely cute. Without the fake accent, it would make me stop and look closely.

'Tis the season for bearded iris around here. I don't have many, but this is my favorite.

My first season with a blooming Wisteria! The photos are from two weeks ago; it's now in a new pot, placed at a better angle.

OOPS! 7" Chinese Hackberry in a Yozan-Eime pot.

Love the drum as a background. It seems to work even with the painting on the head.

Giving back for three great years. Another pot giveaway.

I admit to a growing addiction to bonsai pottery -- so please consider this my "ante" toward feeding my habit!

    Air layering: pot vs bag

I've had the best results chopping the sphagnum moss and mixing it with perlite. It's far easier to disentangle roots than using just straight moss. And in my part of the world, I always wrap aluminum foil to reduce over heating.

    Bonsai newbie needs advice-Serissa foetida

Hey, Lee. Serissas do well for me even outdoors in winter. I'm pretty close to you, just off I-459, and I bring mine in only when it gets below freezing for more than a few hours. Sun, water, and clipping is all they need around here. Don't starve your new one, but hold off heavy feeding until...

    Japanese to English translation please?

@Brian Van Fleet : Brian, there are probably Japanese students at UAB or one of the smaller colleges here in town. You might check with Student Life offices and find someone willing to help you with this. You would want to sit down with the student and discuss each one to be sure you don't end...

    Boxwood help

Do it. There's not a better way to use small trees than planting them in the same pot/container. Like the slogan says, "Just do it."!

Large forest pot or custom made

I second the recommendation of Marjan Mirt as someone who make large pots. I haven't seen a large shallow pot, but the 17" oval pot I have (3" deep) is well made and quite nice.

Thanks for the name. I don't think I'll find one in a ne\ursery in Alabama, will I? ;)

@Milly, I'm fascinated! What is this plant? In the photo it looks like the blossom/buds surround the stem -- in two places.
