These backbud really well. Pretty amazing. We shall see how much needle length reduction they can achieve.

Thanks for all the replies. I was concerned with a systemic 'black rot' fungal infection. My knowledge of tree physiology and pathophysiology is nill. I'm still looking for a nice relatively concise reference book.

Ive had this large ficus for a few years. I've never really liked the form as it seemed more like a bush in a pot. I'm thinking about a banyon tree style similar to the small tiger bark of mine that I included the pictures of. Any thoughts, comments, critiques ?
