Big Ilex - collected American Holly

Any update on this one? It seems to be responding very well! I have many shrubs just like this in my front yard I'm removing and it looks like I'll be making some boxes for several of them!

A leftover Japanese Boxwood turned mame

Thanks lol! The perk of bringing her with me to the bonsai nursery, the owner usually throws in the small ones because she likes them :P maybe she'll let me put one in the ground...

A leftover Japanese Boxwood turned mame

I bought a nursery boxwood last year and it had a less-than desirable second in the pot. I decided to hack it back to a very small stump just for fun. The only container small enough I had was a cut down, tiny plastic container which fell off about 4 times throughout the last year. Occasionally...

    Backyard collected....elm?

Great idea Alain, I'll keep this post in mind for the future Cypress: haha maybe...no it was just from a rough saw while it was still in the ground, suppose I could clean it up!

    Backyard collected....elm?

Ah yeah, I referred to my backyard as a typical TX one. :) I'll update my profile. Plan is for now to let it grow unrestricted and then see what options are available. My first instinct was a broom :)

It was about 8' tall, and had many options for lower branches (which I kept). I only reduced...

    My First Azalea

Here is an update after a full year of growth since the chop. I removed some of the unwanted branches (especially from the top, they were growing like crazy) Would love your thoughts: There are two branches on the second pic (on the right side of the tree) that are dead

First maple in need of experienced view/thoughts

Haha yeah, funny how deadwood is dead =P I just never noticed the dark spots from within the trunks before on other trees I have, also my first (and only so far) maple. It grows like a weed though so I haven't worried much. That is always a good sign...right? :)

First maple in need of experienced view/thoughts

When I repott it, I noticed a big block of trunk underneath. I did my best to reduce it and it appeared a lot of the wood was rotting underneath. A lot of the deadwood you see in that picture is dead as well, along with trunks exposing black along the inside. I'll get a picture when there is...
