    Second one is Ficus microcarpa or Ficus "retusa", depending on which publication you read from which year. F. microcarpa is the current and most used now. Leaves will get a bit smaller with correct bonsai care and conditions.

    I finally to give this little guy his first wiring. Here are some before and after photos He is one of 40 GI ficus in need of the first wiring. These are my favorite ficus. I love how small the leaves get with wiring and trimming.

    too much neem oil?

    I like neem, I use it on almost all of my trees. But There are a few that tend to not like oils and elm is one. I always spray at the end of the day so the sun isn't hitting foliage intensely. Then I give it a pressured spray in the morning . With Dawn as a surfectant, it reliquifies and helps...

    Doing it yourself saves money, no doubt. If you decide to go the " buy it already mixed" route, there are a lot of quality sources on the internet. We have some on sale at the shop and on the website. Its an inorganic mix, but you may decide to add organics to it. Our sale ends this month...
