HELP! Burning Up -- Need Shade

I got a metal frame and a 30% shade cloth from a vendor at my local swap meet. I've seen a lot of the vendors use them. With a few days notice they can make them to whatever size you want. Then you can cut or bury the poles to your desired height. Ernie

How soon should one check a ground layer or air layer for roots?

So you have to leave the girdle exposed for a day before bundling it up? Why is this? Is it so the cambium dries out? I haven't done an air layer or ground layer but I have seen demos in my bonsai classes and I hadn't heard that? Ernie

Trying to create a twisted Pomegranate

I have a few of these pomegranates around so I decided to try to create a twisted pom with one of them. I didn't have a tile or block of wood laying around but I did have some tile backing board so I figured "what the heck.." I used a Sheetrock screw to hold the tree to the board and separate...

I must say...I am enjoying seeing the contest photos coming in...

Yeah I did but I'm at work until morning...... :( It would be nice if I could work on my trees at work though.. There is some plumbing work being done here on site and they had to move some boxwoods temporarily. Some are at least 20 years old. At least ten of them total from two hedges...

I must say...I am enjoying seeing the contest photos coming in...

This was fun. Although I bought my tree, a little procumbens nana, on time and started working on it, because of time constraints and a little procrastination, I wasn't able to post my entry on time. I was going to enter it in the intermediate category. I will be posting it sometime in the next...

    New JBP

Thanks. I do not know if they are all the trees that were in the ground because I never made it all the way to the back. I didn't want to get stuck in traffic on the way back home and I can get lost for hours just looking at trees there, and I had a three year old to look after who wanted to...
