    Knife sharpening

I have the EdgePro system. Has an attachment for scissors. Expensive. Haven't used the scissor thingy but on knives it's great. Razor sharp. I use it for my grafting knife. Takes a while working thru the finer and finer stones but you can put a mirror finish on the edge fairly easily...

Shipping delayed on ficus - ok?

It might drop leaves as it adjusts to your conditions. Don't panic if it does and don't over water if it drops leaves. I would gradually introduce it to full sun, since it's been in the dark for a while. Good luck

Online vendors for cheap but not bad pre-bonsai stock

There are several groups on face book. One only has items under $75. Most groups are "closed" which means you have to ask to join. Some are auction, some are straight purchase. Lots of pots. I bought a couple of maples there and am pleased. You can find trees from $20 to $500+. I think these...

    Finding Bonsai supplies/sundries.

Red pine, browning (burned?) and dying needles

I don't know about your area and what's indigenous, but could be a needle cast type of fungus.

    New Shelves

Hope not, but could be. The height of the long one is designed for display underneath the windows in my den. Didn't have much choice in the height. If necessary, I will anchor it somehow, either concrete blocks on the base or run a cable to the house. Small ones are 30 inches tall, so should be...

    New Shelves

Decades ago, I would 'a built them myself. Now, in my old age, I find its better to save the energy for the trees and other things. I have the equipment (table saw, router, drill press, etc) but finding good wood, loading and hauling, .... well, that would be REAL WORK! This gentleman had the...

    New Shelves

I found a local woodworking shop to make a couple of shelves. Cedar with polyurethane satin finish. This photo shows what is being delivered Monday. The tall one is for underneath my den window. Now, if only my trees looked this good.

New Pot - Now I need a forest

I have been looking for a long narrow pot. James at Bonsai Vision found this for me. It is 6 3/8 x 16 1/2 x 7/8 inch. There is no chop mark, James thinks it probably was brought to the USA from Japan decades ago. Now I need to create a forest that will do well in such a shallow pot. I am...
