    Pomegranate Tree From Seed

Yeah. It seems like they would grow most of the year in my greenhouse and house. I live in Missouri and our winters are pretty harsh, so I can't leave them outside. I'd like to have them look full grown, but small. Kind of shrubby almost. They haven't put any branches out yet, so maybe if I made...

Thank you. How tall do you think they should be before I chop? And how much should I chop?

    Pomegranate Tree From Seed

I have grown 16 pomegranate trees to about 13 inches from seed. I was wondering how long I need to wait until I start working on a couple of them. I'm also not sure how to keep them small without chopping their tops off. Is there a way? Thanks!

    New Here With a Question

Is there anything that you see that needs to be wired or trimmed? I'm not sure if you can see it well in the pictures. If not, I can upload more.

    New Here With a Question

I think that's a good idea. I will just let it grow and then start working on it?

    New Here With a Question

I was hoping that was the case. This is one of the first types of trees I am working on that isn't store-bought and YouTube is my mentor, so it might not look as pretty as most. Lol

    New Here With a Question

I will have to remember that. No big cuts. I would've hacked away at it. I think a larger bonsai would be nice. Honestly, that thought didn't even run through my mind, but I like it. Your tree sounds less harsh than mine. I think I would rather have that variety growing on my property. Less thorns.

    New Here With a Question

I believe it is a honey locust. I'm located in Midwest USA so there are a couple of the species native here. If it's not a honey, then it's a black locust.

    New Here With a Question

Thank you for the welcome. :) I have read that on a couple of threads. This isn't my only tree I'll try on. I just love the qualities of it. The small spines, and the ways the leaves look. Maybe there's a way to keep the leaves small? I have seen tamarind bonsai and they have the same basic...

That's a good point. Do you have any pictures of your tree for an example?

    New Here With a Question

Thank you. I know the pot is rather large, but the tree had an enormous main root that I cut back quite a bit and am waiting for more smaller roots to grow until I can cut it down to the size that will fit in a small pot. I think I will have to take your advice and cut the stems shorter or it...
