    JWP fungus help

Hey guys, I just noticed this pop up in the past 2 days on my older JWP. It's like a fine web or fungus popping up on the bark only. Needles are unaffected now. The tree is in pumice/lava...it's been extremely healthy so far this year. Any ideas...

    Tide commercial

Doesn't this apply to every hobby though? That's why it's a hobby. I've seen this statement about reef/fish stores, reptiles, bonsai, and pretty much everything else. It's so sad to see people come into a hobby and eventually try and make a buck off it.

    Acer is withering again.

Hello, I must say your post got me a little tearey eyed, and you have some beautiful trees. I'm not sure what others will say, but it seems as if this year has been bad for acer all over the place. All of my Japanese maples are scortched, tridents are doing better as per usual. It's definitely...

    Sun burn please help

Nothing more you can do other than make sure it gets water and is in the shade. Also, some would say to stop fertilizing if you haven't already.

My Formal Upright Trident, naked as can be

I never said anything about the criticism, just the method at which it was applied. Thanks! And the tree is 1.5" diameter 1" above the soil. Any other questions? Thanks for the other responses guys!

My Formal Upright Trident, naked as can be

It's all good, I did need to be more clear that I didn't do the work, but I did agree with it being done considering the shape of the leaves before. I'm down in San Diego which is much much cooler, and have the tree with my other maples in the shade. They are hard to keep out here, but I'm by...

My Formal Upright Trident, naked as can be

Jeez, I guess it's hard to get much right here. I have been visiting Kimura on the weekends for sometime now and have been looking at their maples. Our hot SoCal scortch did allot of aesthetic damage to allot of people's trees, and I was watching that happen with some of their tridents. Spoke...

My Formal Upright Trident, naked as can be

May I point out again that I didn't defoliate it. I purchased it as such. Perhaps shaking your head has caused you to miss read my posts. Also. I don't want to shorten the tree considerably. I will be creating 2 trees from this one, which completely changes the game. Thanks for your blunt...

My Formal Upright Trident, naked as can be

Mid summer defoliation has been a benefit to my few tridents, but this defoliation wasn't done by me but by the nursery, so I can't argue with that. All of you have made great points, but I should have framed my ideas better. Nothing more is happening to this tree this year. Depending on the...

My Formal Upright Trident, naked as can be

Hot weeks had scorched most of the leaves. The were quote large as well last time I saw the tree, so the reasoning is sound.
