    Lissa's Learning... kinda

Bare with me! I am trying to study wiring technique but my hands-on is probably going to be the best experience. I completely realize that I suck! haha I did unwire since, and decided to only wire a few branches I wanted to grow out nice and thick. So basically just some support wiring...

    Lissa's Learning... kinda

So this is going to be my one thread where I post stuff that is all about me. I want to share my experiences, questions, and discoveries with a community that shares my interest. I'm just starting out in the world of Bonsai so I wanted to try to somewhat document my experience. Instead of...

Advice - identifying your tree species?

Well I found out that three of my plants are not trees LOL. But! I found some babies that definitely look like Maples. Oaks and Maples are so beautiful to me and I feel drawn to them more than most other trees. I am hoping that I have a maple and an oak tree. I found a decent site for...

Hello! Advice for my first repotting?

For question #2 I would search Bonsai Juniper Repotting in YouTube. Seeing someone repot was completely different than the visuals I got form reading lol Thats just me.

Advice - identifying your tree species?

Hey there! I did a search, on here and on google, and wasn't able to find much (maybe because I am special). I am curious to know if there are any helpful sites that you would recommend for identifying trees you've grabbed from the woods. Yesterday I went for a long hike and found 3...

    Baby Japanese Black Pine Repotting

Aw! It's so cute! I have a ton of babes right now. I've moved them one or two times already and they are literally only about 2 months old. I only did it because I had to and because they were free (I found them in the wild) so I can risk a few of them dying (honestly I have too many thriving)...

Thank you so much! I will definitely do that!! One of the leaves did have something nasty wrapped in it. They looked like bugs huddled together. I removed them 4 days ago. But there was something living in there. Gross :( I hope they dont kill my tree. Those two are the best ones.

Gimmy Thanks for the tip. I will check out that website for sure. I did purchase from Brussels and Bonsai Boy. I bought two trees (by accident). I tried to cancel my order with Brussels but they shipped it so fast. I know I cant return in because that would definitely kill the tree. Hurry...

I've been noticing that two of my young trees (which are still unidentified) have some leaves at the top of my plants are curled tight! I uncurl them and they look like healthy leaves just like the rest... but when I let go they spring right back. Im worried because this is happening on two...

Thank you! I do intend on purchasing an indoor Ficus Bonsai tree (4 yrs) and maybe a few others if I find a good place to purchase from. I really enjoy growing from seed. Flowers, food, everthing I have ever planted is from seed. I dont get as much enjoyment just purchasing plants. Even for...
