here is a new korean hornbeam i recently purchased, for a good price,

here is a picture

I will try to get a photo later but the scratches are not deep they are just a small layer of the outer bark about five or six scratches in all the tree already has natural cracking of the bark which I imagine is what the scratches will look like later

some animal made a few scratches on the bark of my hornbeam, i think it was my parents cat :mad: do these scratches heal themselves overtime or do they stay forever

well i wasnt able to repott my hornbeam my stuff came to late and the buds looked like they were about to open, but it looks like it is flowering their are about 5 of these flower looking things they are not leaves because it already has small leaves they look like flowers to me what do you guys...

man this is gonna be a show stopper love thae base

im not to sure ive had it a year and bonsaiwest told me it could be repotted this year

well i bought my soil from dallas bonsai thanks for the suggestions everybody, i primarly went with the pre mixed soil because im a rookie and rather have something thats more predictable for myself, fingers crossed and hoping that my hornbeam is still repottable by next week, because my trident...

thanks rockm are the prepared mixes ready to just use or is anything else needed, what do you guys think of bonsaiwest ready to use soil.

thanks angel and brian ill update it later tonight after i get back from work so 2 parts akadama and 1 part lava rock what goes first brian is akadam actually soil, im asking because ive seen some videos and it looks like they are using just rocks
