Cool idea! Did you use silicone or anything else to seal the terrarium around the bottom? If not, I would stick a cork mat or something similar under it, to avoid damaging your desktop. Heck, I would protect the desk even if I did seal the terrarium.

You are probably right about that. My ADHD sometimes makes it hard to envision either the future or the past, so I think I can blame my less sunny view on it.
