    Aquired Bald Cypress...What to do?

Are Italian Stone Pines good choices for bonsai?

I have grown Italian Stone Pines for years, as upright and slating, and will be putting together a group. I pull off the adult needles as they come, and cut the branches to shape that cahracterisitic umbrella outline where they are still green. It back buds well.

    Plant ID Please?

I have a "Miss Kim" but he leaves are more rounded at the tip, so this may be a "Palibin", both dwarf Korean lilacs, S. meyeri. You have good flowers--mine are not so profuse this year like last. I guess they go in cycles. My Littleleaf likes to flower again in the fall so I pull off those...

    Trunk Chop -Pistache chinensis

Thanks guys  All seriousness aside, I'll treat it like most other deciduous trees and whack it this spring just as the buds swell, and post some pics when and if it recovers!

    Trunk Chop -Pistache chinensis

Hmm..no replies...must get some attention. This seems to always get some replies. So I bought a bonsai at the mall, no idea what is is, and it came in a pot with pebbles cemented in. What do I do now?

    Trunk Chop -Pistache chinensis

I was planning to chop a 5-gallon, 7-ft tall pistache to about 3 feet, and was wondering the best time of year to do it. There are no branches that low--they start about 5 ft up. Should I chop there instead, wait a year or 2 for recovery, and then chop again to about 3 ft or just take the...
