    As a total beginner, I'd be interested in a yamadori trip in MI this spring too

    When can I take my Elm outdoors?

    Thanks for the help guys. Looks like I'll be waiting a few more weeks to put it outside. It's also dumping snow here :mad: 50 degrees yesterday, and it's supposed to be 1 below by tomorrow morning.

    When can I take my Elm outdoors?

    Long story short, I picked up a sad looking shohin sized Chinese Elm last fall. It had been grown indoors, and didn't have enough time left in the fall to acclimate to winter, so I kept it inside under lights. This spring I will be putting it outside permanently. However, as it was inside all...

    Any Aquarium Owners?

    The females are small and brown... no flashy fins or exciting colors. I kept beta for a little while, and the few times I tried to introduce females the males quickly killed them. It can be difficult to keep them together.

    Craft Beers

    I'm not much of a scotch guy either. One of my old roomies loved it, and I'd always try some. As it turns out, I had expensive taste. It seemed the only stuff I could drink was $50+ a bottle, after which point it was fairly enjoyable, especially if it wasn't your first drink of the night...

    Craft Beers

    Super hoppy IPA's are my absolute favorite... was drinking Hopslam last night watching the football game. The more hoppy and bitter the better. YUM!

    using cloning kit for cuttings??

    I used one of these lights, and got thousands of cuttings off of a single 24" light.... $20. It's really easy to cook clones, you hardly need any light. https://www.sunlightsupply.com/p-12581-sun-blaze-t5-ho-strip-light-fixtures.aspx If you were to pick up a used aquarium, all of the...

    using cloning kit for cuttings??

    I've found that a single 2' T5 is just about the perfect amount of light for a batch of cuttings.

    using cloning kit for cuttings??

    Not sure how you got started on hormones, aren't we talking about hardware here? :confused: While cloning is "simple" after you do it many times, with the right equipment you can cut the time needed to root by at LEAST half. In the end, this means much (read; MUCH) healthier plants in the...

    using cloning kit for cuttings??

    Not too long ago in my college days one of my roommates was growing... that stuff. I was never too into it, but liked to help with all the equipment and doo-dads. Cloning was my favorite part, always trying to achieve a 100% survival rate. It was always a challenge. I built a cloning chamber...

    Extreme cold and snow heading to the Northeast

    Actually, I've never had another dog that loved the snow as much as Danger does. She's just not happy I made her sit still for 10 seconds to take a picture. She'll run around in the yard for an hour, and when I *make* her come in out of the cold, she just sits by the door/window wanting to go...

    ^^ That's one problem I've found... it's very hard to find a "camera store" nowadays.
