Hello everybody! Its been several years since I last posted on this forum. I have learned a lot and unfortunately killed many trees in the process. I just wanted to post an update on my ficus. Here is my 6 year progression. I really wanted to promote aerial roots but nothing happened. Please let...
has anybody tried overwintering their bonsai in a wooden box full of mulch? im thinking of building one for next year here in north east PA but i'm not sure how it will do in our harsh winters.
Thank you so much for your advice. The thing is I dont have access to a cold out building. I was told by a local bonsai group that I can leave the tree in the hallway until foliage starts to appear and then I can bring it inside with full light until spring. Do you think this will be ok?
so im having this problem too but im in northeastern Pennsylvania. I had to move my trees in my hallway cause it was getting in the 10-20s. The temp in my hallway is 40-50F so i thought it would be ok but now my maple has started breaking dormancy! I cant put it outside cause its too cold and im...

thank you for your comment dav! but i have a question.....so even with an established tree in the middle of summer you personally do not soak in the sink?
yes it is tied down. it was raining a lot the past week so maybe its overwatered. I'll definitely use a chop stick per dav's suggestion tho. thank you guys for your advice again!
