I’ve had it for more than one year now. Inner foliage died last winter in the smaller tree. I’m just leaving it alone and letting it grow. @Scooter9166 - 5a
Awesome thanks! I'll do it next year. I believe it is a red maple. Here's what it looked like 3 years ago. https://www.bonsainut.com/threads/what-kind-of-maple-is-this.19936/
Is there a good way to fix the taper in the trunk? There was a high root attached to that part of the trunk and I guess created the taper. Should I just cut/carve or let it grow? Thanks for all the help
Would it be better to put it in a larger pot and let it grow out for a few years? Is it okay to prune it now or should I wait until next spring to do it? Any tips on pruning and caring for it?
I just got this Hinoki from Brussel’s Bonsai. I was expecting more of a single trunk and got this one. I don’t know how to style it with 2 trunks. Should I cut the other trunk or just keep it?
Can a barbados cherry handle Houston winter? Our temperatures right now are in the mid to low 40's and 30's. Should I put them in the garage at night or will they be fine outside?
So its been 2 months and the tips of the foliage are turning brown on the apex. I scratched the bark and its still green under. Whats happening to it? What should I do?
I don't have cut paste. Is there anything I could use that could act like cut paste? There's still some bark behind the apex. Hopefully that branch will survive.
