    Extreme Bonsai

At the end of the day, who benefits from all of this? The ruling class. The more that peasants fight over "right" and "left", the more they become divided, and the more power it gives to the ruling class. Your pines are fantastic. I'm being completely and totally serious. You understand...

@Vance Wood Do you have data that shows support for another hypothesis besides climate change, rather than just your recent localized weather? If you don't that's not science. The main problem is that people who don't know any better fixate on what is presented by Al Gore and Bill Nye...

    Hydroponics and bonsai

@cbroad I've been thinking about modifying it to make the "fog chamber" 2x as tall. It seems like once the roots suspended in the fog hit the water, they shrivel and die- but it's only been vegetables so far. I'm not expecting any issues switching the Ficus into the aeroponic system, they're...

    Hydroponics and bonsai

This is really interesting. My aeroponic rig is sitting empty right now. I may throw in a rooted cutting of a Green Island Ficus to see what happens. I ended up having to take cuttings as a last resort- the plant was dying in incredibly short order in direct (summer) sunlight. First summer...

Help me out with this little pot.....

Try a Ficus cutting. After the roots establish, you can let them escape for more growth.

NPK ratios are just reduced molar ratios. Phosphorus has a greater molecular weight than Nitrogen, so 20-20-20 would have more Phosphorus by weight. NPK needs can be derived from dry weight of the plant, and would vary by species and type.

    Miracle Gro

NPK figures are simply ratios. You could always do the math yourself with the "serving size" of your choice and information from the packaging. You can also start weak and keep track of raw growth, increase concentration until you no longer see changes in growth rate. For me- organic...

Yep, bingo, works for me. @defra 's whole schema was to have fun. Or think about it this way, I will know before the first deadline whether or not my trees survive the root reductions required to get to this size. Now I'm 2/3 at the point of growing and developing branching. This is a...
