How about some ficus benjamina love? (Let's see yours)

That's what I am going for! I can't believe the amount of roots already! I shaved the bark off of the backs of the trees where they are touching the wood. And I am very surprised I have not lost a single leaf. I can't wait to see the finished product.

I know, the roots should take over the dead wood and fuse with eachother and harden into trunks, then the dead wood should root away, leaving the ficus behind.

They are outside and it is dark now, but I will try to get you one tomorrow. It is a box store buy. And at first the leaves seemed stiffer and pointer, but then they softened very much like the benjamina s I know

How about some ficus benjamina love? (Let's see yours)

This last one is a house plant that I divided. There were originally 3 different types of ficus in the one pot, 5 plants total. 3 benjamina, 1 variegated benjamina, and one "ginseng" ficus. I let them grow in the original put for about a year and then separated them. The variegated one was...

This one is a cutting from another plant, it is close to a year old. I have it in a cascade style pot to hopefully give it a long root system, not sure exactly what for yet...thinking maybe a root in rock style. This one almost immediately shot out a couple aerial roots. I think you can see one...

I thought so, too at first, but the leaves are much thinner (not as stiff) , like a benjamina

How about some ficus benjamina love? (Let's see yours)

This is a cutting from the first tree, it grew quite a long root system in the routing medium I use, so right now I have it in training as a root-over-rock. I have it planted over a dark blue-grey smooth river rock. It's only been a month or so, but it already seems to be clinging well to it. It...

I love my benjaminas. I have a few, plus a few cuttings. This first picture was the first tree I purchased, with the dreaded S curve. It was a supermarket buy. I didn't know anything about bonsai when I bought it. I know it is not your typical bonsai, but seeing as it is my first tree and it...
