This is not my sale, just throwing this out there for others who may be interested. Went to this yard sale today where this woman had pallets of Hyuga, 3 different sizes for $20 per bag. Had like Japanese stones for root over rock and was offering Prunus Mume and tea tree yardadori for free...
I checked them out, thank you for the replay btw. Sadly seems they are unavailable right now according to the site. I sent them an email anyway. Crossing fingers.
Hey guys, been looking online for some prebonsai/saplings of mume and seem to be hitting a dead end. Especially looking for bright pink like the beni-chidori or almost red color variety. Would anyone know where I could get one locally or online?
That kobai is beautiful! I've been looking for mume and having a hard time finding them, even online. I'm in queens and wondering where you guys got your mume from? Especially looking for bright pink/red specimens like to kobai.
Go for it in my opinion. Even if it dies you will learn from that experience. Everybody kills trees and as long as you grow and learn from every death. Its fine by me.
I think thats out of my comfort level. The bark is like 3/4" in some areas and I'd have no idea how to even slice a clean slit into the cambium with all that bark. Thank you for the suggestion though. I appreciate hearing peoples suggestions.
whoaaaa you actually did it. I thought u were being kinda sarcastic when you told me that lol. You definitely have balls of steel. You added so much more character to that treee! Great job. I have another pine of similar size to yours. I may have to get it a try on that one.
I've done a few approach grafts. Where are you thinking it needs grafts? I'm still not even sure how this tree will be styled or how to incorporate that left branch into the design.
