Yaupon Holly - Can I Chop them down

I just picked up (3) Yaupon Holly shrubs from someone that was redoing their landscaping. I will post some pictures shortly. They are each about 15 years old and are about 4 feet tall. I just repotted them with just some potting soil and put them in 7 gallon nursery pots. Is it too late in the...

    Yaupon Holly Trunk Chop

Throwing this back to the top. I would really like to chop them down, but want to make sure it is not too late in the season. We have a ton of rain right now, but I plan on getting them into bonsai soil by the end of the week if I can chop them down.

Willow Tree - What to do?

The overlapping trunks on the left and the back are going to be removed. I took it down a lot from where it was, to where it is now. the root ball is only about 1/2 the size of the box. Will all of the pruning and trimming I did, I wanted to let it recover. It is recovering great and has back...

    Yaupon Holly Trunk Chop

Yes, I planted them in these pots and soil today. When I showed up to pick them up, they were already pulled from the ground. I believe they were pulled yesterday. I was in a rush, so I grabbed them on my lunch break, went home and through them in a pot with some potting soil.

Willow Tree - What to do?

Here are some updated pictures. Back budding had gone crazy. I was going to wait and let it recover before I take off that straight branch on the left. What do you guys think?

My plan was to begin wiring in a couple weeks and start to give it that willow look. Should I go a lot shorter?

Willow Tree - What to do?

So I took the first step and cut it back and put it in a grow box. I also cut away about 1/4 of the root mass. I am going to let it recover this year and then do a heavy prune again next spring. Thoughts?

Trident Maple - What to do.

Thank you - I will shorten it and cut it so it looks like it is in the ground. As for the "telephone pole" I plan on cutting it back in the fall and choosing a leader to follow where it was cut down. Every year, at our local bonsai studio, they have a Trident Dig. They have a few hundred trident...

Trident Maple - What to do.

I have this larger trident maple that I dug up about a year and a half ago. I have not cut it back at all but I am thinking this year, when it goes dormant, I am going to cut it back and start choosing my branches, ie. pick a leader. When I dug it up, I had to cut one of the Nebari to get it...

Grow Box - Builder Grade Wood

Good afternoon. I have a bunch of wood from some houses being built around me. The markings on the wood suggest it was heat treated. It is all builder grade lumber from the frames of houses. Can I use this for my grow box? I probably should have asked before I built it, lol.
