    A year ago may I thought young=small enough....since I have had many epiphanies about bonsai. Vance....back then I ment small enough...Thanks for pointing this out. I'm sure there are people out there with the same misunderstanding about bonsai that I had last year ;)

    Ummm it's pretty messed up they're making you take the TOEFL and the GRE.....If you score decient on the GRE's verbal you'd blow the TOEFL out of the water....Seems like the TOEFL would be a gross waste of money...BOOOOO Bureaucracy!!! Good Luck on your tests!

    Ahh that's why I have a hard time getting up in the morning....Im held back by nocturnal, overstimulated, root growth ;) j/k well the buds have started to break...I will try layering some in black bags this weekend!

    I've seen a wide range of "suggested" cold stratification times for JPMaples. Ranging from 60-120 days.

    In the article, they were using a tool that looked like a wood file to take all of the bark down to the sapwood :(

    so straight clean cuts.....dough....I read an article somewhere that told me to make jagged cuts to premote a less homogenious root distribution. Which, the article claimed, premotes a more natural look. I feel this is the cause of my past failures....because I have been doing everything else...
