What a fine tree, it looks so stately like something you would see growing near an old farmhouse or on a plantation. Now I want a crabapple again, not just any old crabapple though I want this one. Where did you say you lived in Alabammy.

A better question would be to ask him where he collected it. I want one just like it. Really, I'd kill for a base and trunk like that.

I collected this hawthorn in March, the base is much better (flatter, more radial) than my older one. 9" wide at the soil, 3.75" at 3" up, chop is 16" high. It's in the ground, but can be lifted in the spring.
