I was at the National Bonsai and Penjing Museum. Some photos of some trees in late summer and some shots of the stroll garden renno with new boulders and pines (the cryptomeria planted twenty or so years ago are getting tall.

I was at the National Bonsai and Penjing Museum. Some photos of some trees in late summer and some shots of the stroll garden renno with new boulders and pines (the cryptomeria planted twenty or so years ago are getting tall.
I was at the National Arboretum in Washington DC in the 1980s when there was a fantastic collection of bonsai on display. I still have the black and white display guidebook listing the tree variety, age, style and bonsai master. The trees were a stunning example of health and judicious care.

The white pine in The next to last photo was given to the collection by Nancy Reagan after President Reagan received it as a gift from a foreign country ( I think it was the King of Morocco as he gave a huge old camellia directly to the collection as well. He was a big bonsai fan and had his own collection)
