Geranium is not a species often used in bonsai... for good reasons. However, these three plants were originally and they are about 35 years old. I don't really work with them, won't wire well and even clip and grow has its limits. So I just plant them enjoy them and cut them back every so often.

Amendment:
In the above thread I mentioned that these were from the same plant but looking at it, I realized the flowers are not the same, so it must have been two different plants in the same pot.

I've never seen a woody stem/trunk on a geranium. FUN!

Very cool! I had a geranium for about 18 years. It just turned up it toes one year and died. I don't know if it was from my treatment or if it had just lived its life out. Does anyone know the life expectancy for these guys?

Gotta admit, I didn't think I would like these as I dislike geraniums in general. BUT, when I looked at the photos, you really have created something unusual and interesting with them. Very neat.

Maybe a little off topic, but I seem to recall reading that a tree(not plant) can hypothetically live forever, if the environment it is in supports that. Oxygen, rainfall, nutrients, light, and disease and pest free etc.
