I like this funny little tree. It's sort of in a raft style but rather atypical, really does give the impression of a whole tree that completely uprooted and fell over and kept on living. Hopefully you can get some surface roots to thicken up a bit and be able to have nebari showing above the soil! I always like seeing something a bit different.

Remove all the flowers. I've noticed retarded/slow growth on my boxwood when they are there and how fast they threw new set of leaves once removed.

Thanks, Cypress and Poink, I have had this one for a while. I was taking my kids to school one day and noticed that someone had ripped out a boxwood hedge. It had started growing over the driveway and this was actually a exposed root that had sprouted. I loaded all of them up in the truck and planted them in the yard, most made it. Too tall (4 feet or better) for bonsai but I did find a few like this one here and there on them. This is the only one that I have left. It is kinda wonky, but it is making some roots to the side and eventually have some that are exposed.

I like the flowers so I think that I will keep them. I know it might slow it down a little, but hey, if you are in a hurry, bonsai is maybe not for you, right? LOL.

Thanks again,

John
