Just thought I'd let you guys know about an iPhone app I used this summer to help learn my local trees around here. You can place a leaf on a white background and take a pic and it will give you a list of trees with pics of the leaves in the order of closest resembling the one in the picture. You can also browse all the trees an see there bark,flower,buds and seeds. Best thing is it was a free app. http://AppStore.com/leafsnap I think it's just for iPad and iPhone and iPod touch.

There is also a program for Ipad Iphone and windows to catalog your bonsai with pictures and data, and keep records. Need to remember the name:

I haven't been to impressed with Leafsnap- I've had it for awhile now and it seems to be wrong as often as right. There are some pay apps that are supposed to be really good but I'm too cheap.
