Must suck to be you. LOL, what a treat to have that many really good trees to work on.

Haha, it's more like motivation to get the weeding done and finish the website update. I am so grateful for everyone who has helped me along the way, it really is a dream to be able to work outside and do something that comes from the soul. Okay, now back to work- only 30 more years until I can call myself decent!

Podocarpus carving before and after, the picture doesn't do the branch structure justice but you'll see this honey in the future for sure. It just passed its first year of training in which it was left to recover for most that time. (That's a 45 gallon container btw)

collected yew from defunct nursery. This pic was the day it was dug. Going on about 30 months in a box, currently mostly under snow. Dammit.

Dav,

Should that tree seem familiar to me?

No Martin, that's a little dwarf maple I've been working on for a few years and was repotted yesterday. I'm planning on repotting one of the arakawas this week:D.

Not my tree, but a pretty nice cork bark elm at a good price. I see several small improvements that could be made to improve the image by a lot. I didn't want to make a new thread for it, but I wanted to put it out there for any BNuts that might be interested in it.

Kingsville Boxwood repot

I thought about putting this post in the ongoing Turface debate thread, but thought I would try to reinvigorate this thread instead.
This tree was treated pretty rough about 5 years ago by a left-coast visiting pro at my club. He turned it into pom poms. It has taken it's time filling in again. The soil it was in was turface/chicken grit (granite)/sifted pine bark fines. This is two years growth if I am not mistaken. My boxwoods all are prolific root growers. After root trimming today, I put it in akadama/pumice, which I am in the process of changing all my potted trees into. I hope they do as well as this tree did in the turface mix. Many of my other trees were simply waterlogged.

Love that boxwood! I have one in development that I am trying to get to back bud for the last 2 years. Here it is and a little procumbens that I impulsively bought this winter at the big box store.

Give it time. Here's an earlier one of mine after the butchering it took about 5 yrs ago.

Hoping to revive this thread, there has been too many arguments lately. With spring in the works im sure there are plenty of trees to post.

I repoted these two trees last weekend. I decided not to use the bigger of the three trees to create this forest. All three were collected last year, and the bigger one needs more time to grow better roots. The other two grew roots like crazy. I plan to shorten some of the longer branches as the summer goes.
