A Montezuma Cypress. The weeping style is natural (no wire or weights were used) so I will pursue it and style it as such from now on. I find it cool.

Hope you enjoy these spring pics. :)

Spring? Wherefore art thou spring? Below zero again next week. Sigh!
Ditto here in the mid-Atlantic region. Well over 60f here today, melting snow causing minor flooding, and within 5 days it is expected to be more than 40 degrees lower, around 20F at night. My trees dont know what to do. I am seriously chomping at the bit.

It has topped out at about 65-75+ degrees here for the act week, but we have some cool weather on the way again next week! I am going to have to build some sort of make shift plastic greenhouse over my vegetable garden to avoid losing some veggie seeds that are starting to sprout... Annnnd many of my Bonsai are starting to pop new growth and will need to go in the garage for a couple nights.

Skiing has been so good lately that I hope spring never comes! Ran out of firewood so was out skidding logs from the forest behind the snowmobile today, winter's awesome.
I think your weeping tree is cool too, really cool.

Thanks. Problem is, it has an awful root system. It is so bad, I am not sure if I can fix it. The easiest (or maybe the only way) is probably ground layering it. :(

Can't believe you're ahead of me here in LA! I have a few trees leafed out but my tridents are just starting to push here. My hornbeam hasn't even greened up it's buds yet, my wisteria is fast asleep. Only one of my 6 umes are pushing leaves strongly so far. Elms are just starting to leaf out here for me as well. Soon I hope to have as many leaves around as you!

Very refreshing to see indeed! We can see about 2 inches of the tops of our taller specimens but that will be short lived as more snow is coming Wednesday!

Thanks!

Sounds like you are not far behind, in a week or so, some of these will be very lush already. I am sure yours will be too! :)

Thinking of other projects for today...I might graft my other Torulosa with Shimpaku and repot some yaupon. :D

Almost all my plants are pushing new growth now.

The ones I cannot move inside (ran out of space) had their (mostly boxwood) new growth damaged by the recent cold front. :( They should bounce back but will be set back by more than a month.

Thanks for the pictures. My trees are still under 2 feet of solid snow (ice ). They said it may reach 40 on Saturday .
