Neighbor two houses down said I can have this. I was wondering if its an an ilex or something else. Any help would be appreciated. Here's are some pics, not the best though.

I'm no expert but I believe that's Ilex Vomitoria (Yaupon Holly) and would make a great project. Unlike boxwood (which looks very similar) the leaves are alternately opposed on the branches. Again, I'm no expert.

Looks like Yaupon Holly.

I chop these very hard (top and bottom) and they respond well and survive. One die back cause is fungus. Treat them with fungicide (esp the root area) and you should be fine.

Good luck!

Ok yaupon, good to know. Looks to have multiple trunks fused together. Pretty gnarly looking. Good /bad don't know... But She said I could have it, so why not right? Don't have one of these yet.

I would not pass that up. I bet you wind up using the right trunk in the third picture, it has great movement and nice branching coming off the thick trunk.
Good luck with it.

Yeah that trunk does look cool. I guess I'll see when I get it collected. I think she's nervous that I'm going to knock her cable out.:) she thinks it runs under it! I'll have to take my time.
