Very impressive, John. I can almost see the full sized item if I squint. Nice job.

Hollow Trunk Satsuki

Decided I didn't like the branches on this tree when I bought it, so I started over and cut it back completely flush to the trunk. Now I have a lot to choose from. I love azaleas!

(pictures are in reverse order for some reason)

I have to ask...what's up with the screen over the soil?

this is a bougainvillea purchased on ebay last year. Came in pretty sparse, with a good bit of rot in the trunk. I cleaned out the rot and applied wood hardener, then repotted in BGI soil for bougies, and fed the thing senseless. I had it under a sprinkler with the rest of my trees for about a month during this summer while on vacation. Seems happy.

A couple of siberian elms that I made a forest with this spring. It is coming along nicely. Probably need one more growing season to get the lower branches to fill out the way I'd like.

Mach5, that might just be my favorite tree on the site.

Give me a few more years with this one, I think it'll turn out alright too.

Collected in 2011.

Tough acts to follow! Ill make it easier for the next person and revive this thread. Rough styling. Entire right trunk will become dead wood, will make more reductions on skinny jins everywhere.

Tree has a great start and wonderful possibilities.
