I received 3 new trees yesterday, they are still small probably a few inches tall. I received a serissa tree, a schefllera, sp?, and a ficus retusa. I know serissa trees are very finicky and don't like change much I think the other 2 are pretty hardy. when I put them in bigger pots since they came in really small pots, do I leave them out of the sun for a couple weeks? what soil is ok to use, all I have now is regular old potting soil. any tips will be greatly appreciated,

I Knoxville, you still can get some frosty mornings. Until all threat of frost is past, they should be inside.

well right now for the forseeable future we are above freezing, even at night, should I still bring them inside, or just on the nights that it might get below freezing?

Lost this tree...by not being home and trusting the weather man's forecast. We had a huge temperature drop while I was away from home during the day. Just a thought.

I think that they would like as much sun as you can give them.

Mine go right back on the bench in the Florida sun after I repot them, and I have several of all three that you just got. The Serissa might need a little extra TLC, but the Ficus and Schef should have no problems.

Plus if you just slip-potted them (moved them into a bigger pot without disturbing many of the roots), then I don't even count that as a repotting. It won't stress them at all.

Even if i just repotted them yesterday

as long as they are well water, but no soggy. I put most thing back in the sun after a repot and I've had no issues thus far. I keep them well water and mist when I get a chance-2 to 3 times a day.
