That's a very nice Quince unless it's not a quince.

Bristlecone Pine from near the Air Force Academy in Colorado. Actually I believe it is technically Fox Tail Pine.

The maple has a nice nebari.
This is a ficus microcarpa I just finished wiring. Bought it 2.5 years ago as a stumpy 5 branches with some shoots at the tips.

Boxwood- got it from a friend about a year ago... DSC00789.JPG DSC00790.JPG DSC00793.JPG One of my favorite trees now and I was not real interested in Boxwood prior to this.. Hard to show this one in photos.. It is a three dimensional tree that looks good from all sides and the Oval pot means you can view it from almost any angle without having to chose a "front or back"... That is why I posted a few different angles/ tones..

How about something a little different? I did a search of "Spirea" on The Nut and not a single result came back. Everyone has such beautiful trees on this thread and mine have such a long way to go I figured I'd post this just so I could let everyone know I appreciate their trees. Here is my Goldmound Spirea after a fresh prune. I know, it's a little heavy on the left side.DSCF3283.JPG DSCF3289.JPG DSCF3387.JPG

Vin I like the Spirea ! I tried one and it did not survive the root work in July and I have never seen another one with as nice a trunk as the one I had. I learned they do not like root work mid-summer lol.

Here is one of my San Jose Junipers, it looks better from the side but would not fit in the pot that way.

Happy Easter Bunny!

Dorothy, What kind of mix do you use for your buttonwoods. I purchased one at the Joy of Bonsai shohin convention. It was and still is in potting soil, which was what the lady had it in. It was only inside for the winter. Under Fluorescents. Thanks

This year I use lava rock/pumice/calcinated clay. All equal parts and size (!). I feed lots of fertilizer and thus water a lot- or vice versa. You may have to adjust to your needs and habits.

Best,
Dorothy

Ok, Sounds good. I repotted it this weekend into modern substrate. Didn't have a whole lot of roots. Used Rhizontonic and Great White Mycorrhizal fungi tea mixture after a good soaking. I also read that you should completely defoliate when you repot so I defoliated. Do you defoliate when repotting? Picture is of a collected Ligustrum.
