I'm dealing with just a slight notice of leaf burn. So it's time to move my Kojo No Mai cherry to another location. Thing is...with it's potting angle change and repot. It doesn't work where I placed it last season.

I have a dryer vent along the back of the house...I wish to put a table up against the house on the back patio for the tree. How far is a safe distance from that vent would the table need to be?

I must say...it's came a long way from last year...to this year. Loving the direction it is headed.

And how it looks today...

Decided to just move the table to the location to see what the distance from the vent would actually be. So...it's about 3' across from where it is. (Closest side of table) and the tree (Pieris Japonica on the top right) is a good 4' above local area where the vent is located. So...I guess I need to just be watchful. See if they show signs of stress at this point.

Tough call on placement near a dryer vent. In general it will be exhausting warm moist air when used. That may or may not hurt/help different plants but if plants need to be near it I would feel best simply keeping them above it. I am not certain but I suspect fabric softener would have little or no effect but the moisture "could" encourage things like aphids. Not expert advice by any means but just things to consider.

I have a butterfly garden (perennials and such) in close proximity to my dryer vent. I have a problem with leaf mold at times that I keep in check with extra attention and a good regimen of copper fungicide.

Good luck.

Thanks for the heads up! I'll be proactive...and stay on top of things.

I look at the picture of this year and it look like the leaves on the plant are much larger and a lighter/paler green color. Has the plant been in less light to cause the bigger leaves with the paler color?

I am prone to think the top needs thinning, similar to what you do with a Juniper. I am pretty certain it is a combination of taking off root to pot it and not enough foliage.

I slip potted it Grimmy...no real root reduction in the least. Though I agree the top right needs thinned.
