Well not really new, but rebuilt, and annexed. Needed to get rid of the clutter of individual benches while retaining differing heights, and interesting design. Also redid the watering system with an additional line, and changed all the sprinklers to mister heads. This will work much better for coverage even in the wind. Not quite complete, as there are end cap benches to build, that will eliminate the remainder of the freestanding benches. But it looks so much cleaner now, and you can focus on seeing the trees.

First picture is a before (with dog toys in the foreground :) )

Thanks Brian. It reads better in person. Can't wait to see what you've got going on!

Oooooh nice. Is that at the new digs? I like the rock background very much.
Yep, this is at the new house. Hopefully construction will be done and we can get moved in early July.
Our current house was on the market for 1 day before we had a contract, so a little pressure to push the contractor along!

So you were able to get some of that new build into the new house $$? Sweet! Sweat equity here, we are spending all our extra $$ cutting down and disposing of ash trees around here recently. pretty sad actually.:(

Every time I come on here I see something that I'd like to have. Congratulations to both of you on your excellent projects. I'm looking forward to seeing them when they are a bit further long but both look great!

Gorgeous Judy! What a beautiful setting this is!! You have some nice dappled light in there that is ideal for maples. Between you and Brian I am completely inspired!! But damn you guys. I have to go and work harder on mine now LOL! :p

I am really liking yours too Brian! I love those big rocks specially if you plan to have some conifer bonsai on those stands.

Now just have to talk nice enough to get the sunny conifer area redone in this scheme. Might have to wait a year, but going to try!:D:D:D

I really like how your overhead misters are concealed above.
For your new benches, are your posts 4x4 or 6x6?

Cool! I am just starting to look for something for my trees as I am moving.
Just a question, aren't the misters too far away? do you loose a lot of water.

Love the setting. City life is not my cup of tea, but I do what I can. Everything looks pretty sturdy and well built. Congrats on the setting for all your well deserving trees.

The back benches are 4x6's and the front ones are 4x4's. They are very solid.

Yeah the misters are great. We did the same system with sprinkler heads up till now, but now that the benches are directly under the headers, I was able to go with misters. They are not too far away from the trees that I loose a lot of water. You have to be somewhere around 60"or less from the bench top for them to work well. Sprinklers are hard to aim, and then they change with the wind too much to be completely safe. The misters do blow in the wind, but being directly under them, it seems to still water just fine.

City girl I am not, but I've seen your yard Al, and you have it going on there.

I should add that these particular misters have a volume control, that also serves as a pattern control. So you can get very specific about where the cone of water goes.

This might be asking too much, but a video of your watering system working would be amazing :D
