Just shy of 3/4" at soil line which is about a half inch below the spahgnum you see.
Nothing major...it is barely 2.5 years old.
Here is the first major Nebari work in spring of this season.

Im thinking of starting one too next year, thinking of making a multitrunk, there is this really nice multitrunktree at a place where i go work sometimes.its inspriring

Thanks Djtommy.I have a few multi/ double trunks coming up.Cuttings this season.These are planted right on top of inverted clay saucers inside the colanders in an inch of soil.Should look good in a couple years.

Glad to here it,Mfrary.Thanks,glad you like the thread!I am enjoying the process of growing some trees.
I wonder how elm would respond to defoliation.Some may say it is not necessary ,but I think it would create fine ramification and short internodes in the canopy of a well formed,small elm.
To wire al the small twigs and make pleasing form would be quite rewarding to do ,and see.

It's funny,I just went back and started to re-read my I'm gonna make brooms thread and boy, them little trees can be developed so much quicker.
