Right back at ya Mach5! ( Wish there was a love button instead of just a like.) How hard did you have to look to find milk crates that were the same color as your gravel :p ? You must be out of bench space already.
Beautiful, the last photo has such nice contrast, and I love the details of the round moss(?) area with the planter! You have a far more manicured feel than I do, I like it very much.
If you're ever out my way, I'd love to have you stop by! Maybe you could teach me the secret maple chant/spell....
:D

Here are some shots from around the farm this morning.

Wow! Great job on the conversion from Farm to Private Park - Thank you!

Note: I am pretty certain Sergio has applications online for Deshi :p

Here are some shots of my garden from yesterday.

Stunning anyways! How long does it take the help to keep the grounds leaf free? Damn - looks like it is vacuumed

Thanks Juds! Milk crates are black ones from HD. It must be the light that makes them look grey :) I am actually not at all out of space which I think is a good problem to have. The area around the old round fountain, which gets a lot of sun, will eventually be dedicated to mostly conifers. The big planter in the middle has Japanese irises in it now but I will love to replace the planter in the future with a BIG conifer bonsai. The "moss" is actually a very low growing creeping thyme that blooms in early summer. Very pretty!

BTW you do not need any help from me, you do just fine all by yourself! ;)

Thanks Grimmy! Yes it was literally vacuumed in combination with leaf blowing. It depends how much crap I have falling from all the surrounding trees but it can take me a couple of hours for sure.

Here are some shots of my garden from yesterday. Color is nowhere as good as other years since a hard frost (21F) browned out many of the maples when I was away on travel.

@Judy: What beautiful surroundings you have Judy!

So jealous of your japanese maples! I have had such a hard time trying to keep them healthy with nice looking leaves and vigorous growth.

I second the motion that you should share your secret to them.

Now that sounds like a real good plan! I have a lot of that type of thyme too, it's a great little ground cover for dry areas.

Joe you should probably start a thread on your current maple husbandry and what challenges you are having. I'll be happy to chime in there and let you know exactly what has worked for me. I am sure others will also contribute with their experiences and methods that can help you figure out a plan of your own. No secret and pretty straight forward... really!

They really are quite a pity...

I think it may have been because they all got too dry one day. They also have some sort of white mildew or residue on the leaves which must be from the hard water we have here.

Do you ever let the leaves on yours get wet? As in do you mist them? I used to daily and that is probably contributing to the problem?
