My wife and I recently went the Philippines - her home, though she's now a dual citizen - looking for land to build a retirement home on in Baguio (mission accomplished, BTW). We plan to retire there in 1-3 years.

Back down in Manila, we spent a couple of hours the last afternoon having her sister drive us around to several locations (of apparently many) where there were bonsai for sale (or at least on display). My wife snapped a few iPhone photos that will give you at least some idea what's available there, and for a very small fraction of the price such trees would go for here in the States.

Enjoy! :)

G52,

island life is gooooooodddddddddddd!!!!!!

Nice collected stuff, but I am going to say it, from seed, seedling and cuttings is much more satisfying.
Much thanks for images.
Good Day

Win/win...her being close to her family again...and you picking up sweet bonsai material at a fraction of the cost in the states! Sounds like it was a successful trip if you have found your land as well.

Man,Will!
What a place huh?
That's so cool! Beautiful trees. But what about the occasional extremely fierce weather they experience on occasion?
The price to pay for living in paradise I suppose.
