JoeR,

it's my brother-in-law's yard. I just weed and water when he is away, and I also get to repot on the 2nd of January, when I am at home, next door.

These are dry season shots done for the IBC, where K hangs out, from some years ago. The stands are made from heat exchanger tubes, very durable, about 23 years old.

The ground reflects our - Island Life - in the Dry Season - January to May/June
Enjoy
Good Day

Ahh, nice peek- thanks for the glimpse.

So you help take care of your brother in law's collection, but do you own any trees yourself or is it just his? Either way its fun!

There is a theory about.....
That they are one person with 2 heads....

That's why Anthony knows about Art School....he had to sit through it all while K went!

That's why Anthony hasn't joined the Ulmus selfie contest.....he doesn't have an elm with 2 apices.

The island is for isolation.

Never dies either.....bout 450 years old now......that's why Anthony is so wise!

Well.....just rumors more than a theory.

It is real nice to see the Intriguing Island!

Hmm, never really thought about who owns what JoeR, I have a gate link into the yard from my yard and a door to the laptop room, into his house.
We are family.

Fredman, I have sent a request. Nick, his nephew, will handle any other images as he gets time. Presently, Nick [ Sauron ] is making a ring for his
mum, and painting figurines for his auntie.
So it maybe a day or two.

Nick is training towards becoming an Architect, house and landscape, as well as a Civil Engineer.
K trained him to make bonsai pots, by the slab method, and to refine the clay from scratch.
[ They are both big cheapskates - :) ]
Additionally he has been taught to make jewellery and is showing an interest in growing Bonsai.
So you may see him on-line from time to time.

When Auntie X returns from London, K's sister who is a Fashion Designer, Nick will also feature as the cake baking assistant:)
[ mostly he who washes up :D ]

Enough family nonsense.

Please note, these plants are grown because K loves trees, not really for show, and are kept in a generalised shape.
Though, there is a local Bonsai Society, and there are thieves as well.
K's efforts are mostly from seed and it would really hurt if they were stolen.
It is does not help that the Southern exhibition centre for the society is just up the road.
Good Day

*That's my house and this is an earlier shot of the Eastern patio.
Oh, the concrete work will be coated in white concrete to simulate white marble [ as time permits ] The rough white coat is actually a bonding layer.
Then the top has to be polished, as this is actually Auntie x's rest spot when she finishes a day of work. She retires at 65, which is about 15 years
away.
The idea was that she could sit enjoy her coffee or white tea, and that's a Barbados Cherry behind the Fukien tea bonsai.
Look below the concrete, more bonsai stands:)

Sorce,

my grandfather knew K's grandfather as boys in Canton. He told K's grandfather about Trinidad, and K's grandfather got an invite from his Uncle
and the uncle set him up as a shopkeeper. My grandfather, ran a Laundry. Very Chinese.
Many Chinese stayed in Trinidad, because they found the climate to be similar to China's Springtime.

I met K when I was about 10 or so, but he grew up very well off. As he puts it- oilfield brat.

When he went to Pennsylvania to study Art, I went to England to study.
My great grandmother was Italian, and we have much family in Italy, via Venezuela.
So I have had much expose to the Old Masters.

Plus, K answers the questions I cannot, and I pop my name on, as Bnut goes. He prefers IBC and AusBonsai, too noisy at Bnut.
Good Day
Anthony

Absolutely peacefully beautiful.
Could not imagine a more wonderfully
natural place to relax with my thoughts
and my plants.
