Yes, it's a Trident.To a land called refinement.
Trident?
Sorce
It was a parachuting accident- always keep the legs (roots?) CLOSED!Just for interests sake.Could you give us a little history of how it became "impaled"? Or are those root over rock roots?
I have seen this one somewhere! Wasn't it for sale recently on the net somewhere? Cool tree Joe!Were would you take it?

It is recently aquired, so I don't really know the history. I guess I'm going to have to ask now, at some point. I just knew I really liked it. I'd imagine it was split at some point. I do consider it a root over rock though, I'm still a relative newb so people might disagree.Just for interests sake.Could you give us a little history of how it became "impaled"? I saw it first on Facebook's Bonsai action page. Then chased it down on another online sellers site. I was able to convince the owner to let me make payments...I love this tree!I have seen this one somewhere! Wasn't it for sale recently on the net somewhere? Cool tree Joe!
Thanks Vin, kinda like that. Was also thinking of taking the longer lower branch off.
That was my first though once I got to look at it in person...The trunk is the star of the show. Not sure I'm brave enough to cut it all off.I can't help but to say the branches are gawky relative to the crafting of the trunk. Would the tree be a supreme thing if it was placed in a flat, zipped up then everything cut off and re-grown with fine, controlled and immensely detailed branching? Then really slowed down--. trunk
So is that a rock, or is it the wood from the trunk through it?I do consider it a root over rock though.
I was sure it was a rock but now I'm doubting myself. So is that a rock, or is it the wood from the trunk through it?
It looks like the cambium was pushed off the wood.I was sure it was a rock but now I'm doubting myself.
Yeah, but when you open it up in Paint you get more detail. I'm still going with rock.It looks like the cambium was pushed off the wood.

got it now. That was two trees crossed around it and they fused together. The rock goes straight through the trunk of the tree.
