I got this super root bound azalea last year, too late in the season to do root work, so I left it, in hopes that it would survive one more winter like that.
It was in rough shape, last one on the shelf, only a few dollars.

In February, this year, I went to check on it, buried in the ground under my back deck. Found the leaves all shriveled up and lost their color, looking bad. I thought it was dead.
Feb: (a few branches, no whole pics)

Cut off the Brillo Pad of roots and cut off all the branches, got it into some good soil mix and into this blue pot. Brought it inside and set it in a window which gets morning sun. (Picked that pot because it was right there and already had screens in it. Also, I didn't cut the branches with any styling in mind. Just chopped and potted.)

After a few weeks.... buds popping almost everywhere, one branch has none.

We had some cold weather, including snow between the time I chopped it and now, it was inside the whole time. It's finally warm enough to put it outside in the day, I'm still bringing it in at night for now...
Yay! I saved it!:D

Nice!

All the bark fell off mine except a little...
It still looks alive too!

But it will never be pretty again!
Lol....when I tried to type "but it", google suggested "burn it",
Well played google!
