Nice. Apparently those grow from north my way to all the way down into Florida. I have a couple and Sawgrass down in Florida tears them up quite regularly.

Nice work. Really great trunk lines and good use of jins.

Two different substrates or just a dressing difference?

Good work, I especially like the one on the left.

I picked up a discount parsons juniper about 4 years ago ($5 from Home Depot). It has a big trunk base but is very short and I haven't figured out what to do with it yet. It just sits there year after year, mocking me.

I was just about to write that I didn't have any pics but I found one from 2012. It still looks pretty much the same.

There seems to be a good root spread/flare just under the soil. Feels like there should be a tree in here but I haven't figured it out yet. Trunk isn't really that large but for a $5 Home Depot tree, it is. We'll see.

when i work on these i usually remove as much lower stuff as i can since i usually am going to e pulling a lot of material downward. Consider getting rid of a lot of the lower growing branches and look at the couple major branches coming off and thing about only working with those. without seeing your whole tree i can only think maybe removing the red and using the yellow.

Yeah, I've had enough other trees to work on that I've just never really given this one enough thought. One plan was to go with a semi-cascade making use of the branch off to the right (the low one you marked in yellow). The other plan was to go with an informal upright using the branch that you marked with the forked yellow line. That branch comes off at a somewhat strange angle that doesn't really show up in the photo. I don't know if I can use both, but the thing really needs a repotting so maybe this year I'll get in there and take a good look at it.

Some of those branches may no longer be there, the photo is from 4 years ago and I have done some pruning. Tree is still buried outside, though...can't get a good look at it right now.
