@Jeremy
I've read it all....and I'm still 90% sure no one knows what you mean.
Plus, that little bit of wire that extends passed the first 2 nodes can be used to guide the rest of the branch away and to light.

Wait....Judy understands....and I understand her wiring all the way.....

@Cadillactaste it is easier to unwind with a pair of pliers that lock shut....ie vicegrips.....
I use these....found em in the river! Creepy!View attachment 97904

Once locked you don't have to keep squeezing, it makes unwinding more ergonomic.
The offset head helps too.

Those are carmalt clamps...I use them in surgery all the time. I think those are past their prime.

I use them to remove hooks from inside the mouth of a fish. Other people use them to smoke pot....

Someone remind me what this thread is about. Mods should probably do a trunk chop to this thread. Sorry Judy.

Hey at least 10 pages of it was about the tree... And some good discussions, I think it just got a bit out of hand.

Sorry Judy, I guess I followed them down the rabbit hole. Hope once we know our date of heading to Columbus...we can make arrangements that might work with your own schedule. So I can see some of these lovelies your sharing lately first hand.

It was a good thread but as you said went off course. Again, I like that plant a lot and oddly(for me) I like the pottery as well. I am concerned though that @Adair M did not mention safety when using wire cutters and pliers - One must always make sure the circuit is not live and check twice before proceeding ;)

Safety, starts at the breaker, not with the tools even if insulated.

Sorry, Judy, gor starting all this. Taking about trident technique. I have no idea how it devolved into electrical circuit safety.

I do like your tree, and what you've done with it so far, and wish you continued success with it.

There was a whole set, seemingly, thrown off a bridge.

Odd.

A tree like this......
You gotta expect a Few off topic convos!

Judy, if you keep posting a old and a new, like really old, like the quince, that is way way cool!

Sorry and thanks!

Hey, them's my fish'un thing-a-ma-jiggers. I, uhhh, uhhh, lost em right where ya found em, yeah that's it. If you simply mail them to me we'll just call it even, I won't need to charge ya rent. Do they really work on plants too?

A late spring bench shot, I've already done the first cutback of the year, and some outer thinning to put sun into the interior. Maybe later this summer if it puts on good second growth, I'll do partial defoliation.

I'd defoliate it for sure at least once.
