That's a nice trunk and the base looks sweet. Is it American sweetgum? Look different from what grows around here.
Thanks I really liked the base on this one. Yes it's American sweet gum. It may look different because I just got it in the pot and it's wet. It's a silver light grey color when dry. The tree was about 30' tall.

This is a nicely matched pair from the Blue Ridge Mountains of Virginia. Eastern Hemlock and Devil's Backbone Vienna Lager.

Really great azalea and I like that pot too. For my money, I would save the buck and drink the pbr.

@VAFisher love the crape myrtle !

@Mellow Mullet your. Azaleas are great, this one I like too! I also partake in the rolling rock from time to time ! Nice pot too :D

Here's a good local brew with a japanese larch , from down the road , alot of micro breweries popping up here !

That Larch is sweet!

With all of the talk about American Bonsai the last couple days, I thought I would offer this. It doesn't get much more American. Riverflat Hawthorn, Byron Myrick pot and Coors Light. Thanks to Zach Smith for this one.

Cant help you on that one. I absolutely suck at id'ing trees with that leaf shape. Elm, hornbeam, beach - i dont know.

I was weeding in the flower bed yesterday and pulled up a little seedling with that shape. I yanked it out before i realized. I potted it up but its wilting some. Maybe I'll take a pic of it with a brew and see if someone can id it.
