You can spread 8822 fines around the base....

No more slugs!

Sorce

8822? The Napa oil absorbent? It makes a good soil AND it kills the slugs!
A magical product! :)

Diatomaceous earth doesn't kill bugs per se. It gets in the cracks of their exoskeleton and irritates the crap out of them.
If you are like me and don't sift the stuff you can get it cheap at your local hardware as dust. Just sprinkle it around to keep insects away. It's sold as an ant preventitive.

First tip on the list :)

Btw: spraying and elm with white vinegar won't be damageable for its health?

@sorce , @CWTurner , @aml1014 and @M. Frary

I think the slugs invasion is under control, for the moment.
I was planing to buy Napa soil this week-end to re-pot my boxwood so the timing is perfect, if a timing could be that for a slugs D-day in your yard.
My elm will stay in its tank, I will keep smashing the slugs if I see some, I sprayed a little vinegar on the leaves and trunk and this week-end I'll make it a nicer set-up .
Thanks you all for your help! :)
