It doesn't stay at the back of the bench ALL summer...
It's amazing how something can look so beautiful in flower yet look like it's knocking on death's door when in leaf. Very cool!

I figured I'd throw the Trident and Goji in this thread even though you all have already seen them.

Thinned out my stalk of broccoli!

Before:

After:

I also began the process of peeling the bark off the trunk, and revealing the cinnamon colored bark below. This also removes the hiding places for little insects. The next step is to take some sandpaper to smooth it up. Nobody likes rough broccoli!

This is the underside of one of the branches:

Nice work Adair! I had the pleasure of seeing this beautiful piece of broccoli two years ago at MABS.

A variety of Japanese maples happily growing in my modest grow-out area under the dappled light of a Dawn Redwood.

Leatherback good luck with your air layer. I am working on many this year. I hope they take!

An old Ezo spruce (picea glehnii). This tree is an absolute gem in person. I am preparing it to be styled next year in the fall.

looks very nice, here is another small ezo , and a maple clump

Do you oil the trunk as well Adair, or just use the sandpaper?

Here's a little Acer palmatum, which I've posted elsewhere before but not here.
