I picked up this Juniper last week and planted it into the ground, i forgot to take photos from before i trimmed it. It was very flat when i got it hence the sticks holding up the 'S' bend. thought? ideas?

Also i do not know why the photo's have a filter on them.

Repost some pictures and use a white sheet or similar so we can see the plant alone. Looks like it might be a good plant though!

I'll be honest. I don't like the S shaped trunk and it looks like you backfilled the hole with mud which probably isn't going to do any favors for growing.

Your honestly is more than welcome. I hear a lot of people saying that they do not like such strong s shapes in tree's, I like them a lot on junipers, besides that's how the tree grew naturally all i did was stake it up. it was originally looking like it would have made a really nice cascade still before i staked it up.

As for the soil, i just dug a hole in my yard and re-used the soil, i was planning on digging it up again at the start of spring and turning it into a root over rock style, so i can replace with some better soil then?

Not sure it's a good idea to go for a 2nd re-pot in such a short time...
I think junipers follow the '1 stress a year, no more' rule.

that was definitely a concern, so i may very well just leave it.

Although I didn't pay attention to the fact that you live in Australia and thus 'the spring' isn't next week like in IL :)
So I guess that depends on the time span between the 2 re-pot...

I had a little play around with his juniper today. I have been lost on what direction to take it.

As you can see i have trimmed more off and started some scarving.

did you just create the shari/jin? If so, wire some movement into that Jin while there is still time.

As you can see i have done some more work on this juniper. It is now looking more like a tree and i now have a direction on where i want to take it. Thoughts?

One question i have. Should i trim the foilage back further towards the trunk? Or is it at a good length now?
